Based on personal experience, it's not something you want to do while you're wearing shorts.

I drop mine on rare occasion but Frank is a different story. When we remodeled our smoking room I put in peel 'n stick tiles so I could replace them after Frank burns them with his cigar. LOL.. He drops them alot. Haven't replaced any tiles yet (he's pretty fast at picking them up) but am going to put ceramic tiles in here cause of our chairs rolling around.

All the time. Sometimes, as a reflex, I catch it.
:-) That usually sucks.

I seem to drop them when I get down to the nub, and am trying to pinch it in my fingernails so as not to burn my fingertips. Being that I do not have long fingernails, that is tricky and usually results in a dropped nub.

Dropped one while driving on the freeway, thought it hit the floor until I saw smoke billowing up between my legs. Burned a hole in the seat of my fairly new Toyota truck. Also dropped a Padron 64 in the toilet...hey I'm old and have a weak bladder.

I've dropped my cigar right out of my mouth a few times, once into the toilet.

Kind of tough to play ping pong and smoke

Now that I think about it, I've dropped it twice in the last five or so cigars.
I'm also a pro at putting it down while working on the car and immediately finding the cherry with the palm of my hand.

Don't worry, Gary. I'll send you some pine tar. That should take care of it.

I don't usually drop my cigar but I did drop my cutter out the window of my work truckthe other day. I was clipping a La Aroma de Cuba after leaving holts in north east Philly. We keep our change in the ashtray so ashes and clipped caps go out the window. Well somehow I dropped the cutter on the highway. No big deal though it was a cheapie cutter.

I can't remember ever dropping my cigar, but I don't even set it down usually. I'm not quite sure why I even have ashtrays with cigar holders on them.

That's a bad case of tobbaco abuse- you may have to go into solitary seclusion. If I hear of a another case I may have to report it for a full investigation. I can't afford to drop cigars around here- the dust is so bad and the percentage of feces in that dust is unbelievable, so with those two items I make it a priority to keep my smokes in complete control.

Same here. Drop lots of ash, but not the cigar itself.

dropping ash on myself and dropping my stogie. sometimes I am just sitting there and it ends up on the floor. one thing that I have never gotten in to was setting it down on a ash try.

Cigary 12:08 AM 10-19-2008
Last time I dropped a cigar was about 3 years ago and I have not dropped one since. Here's the story. I am in my local B&M where I was a member for about 4 years in Framingham, Ma. A few of us are in our leather chairs and sofas watching the game and after having our lunch of pizza, chinese food, yes we always had our food brought in, I drank enough to have to excuse myself to the bathroom. I had been smoking a nice Opus X at the time and was into this cigar only about 1/3 and excused myself to go do Gods work. I'm in there doing his work with the cigar in my left hand and breathing a nice sigh of relief looking upward and I suddenly realize that something is amiss. I feel and hear this hissing sound like you hear when something is being extinguished and I got that really really sick feeling and look down and notice that my cigar is not leaning outside of the line of fire but rather in direct line of a full bladder attack. My mind goes into overdrive thinking that I can save this marvelous cigar when in fact my heart knew there is no such animal. Making things worse was the production I put on when I tell everyone in the room what my smoke of the day was going to be. I thought I'd be able to sneak back into the lounge without anyone noticing that my beloved cigar was in essence, pissed off literally, and here I am sans cigar. The questions came fast and furious from the lounge, "hey, where is that great Opus cigar of yours, did you drop it in the can?" I wish,,,,after more and more grilling from the members I finally had to tell them. I swear you could hear the laughter from downtown Boston and from then on I am ALWAYS aware of where my cigar is at any time. I'm thinking I learned a very valuable and expensive lesson.
