Yep, I understand the meaning of grey market. I was just speculating the stance by Habanos SA might be to cry counterfeit since the cigars weren't going through the proper channels.

If SA Habanos says that they are legit, then we have another Chicago level of paranoia on legit channels in to the US. That would cost vendors millions.

It is a good question. If anyone has anything pertinent to post, I'm sure that they will. Since it is a good question, it might be nice for the usual suspects to not jump on the new guy just for asking.

Didn't mean to come off so brash. Generally speaking, once a government agency gets involved, everyone just kinda.. Shuts up about it. Habanos would never claim they're real, the Government is gonna want Duties paid on it and I doubt on that scale anyone would.
Look up the O'Hare Cohiba Seizure from 2 or 3 years back around November.. It's another massive seizure, except in the US. I'm sure the Customs officers appreciated a few years of free cigars to burn... One.. By One.. By One..

No more like once something happens no one cares to follow up, other than the owner of the goods. And the owner isn't going to bother advertising the outcome. Now if you bothered many governments do publicly announce things, for those willing to look into things. However again apathy rules the day.
And I'm so tired of people repeating that last fallacy. Right up there with cigars from an online merchant are different from those bought in a retail store.

Exactly...as if a Custome Agent making good money and a pension would put that at risk for a $200 box of Cuban cigars.

Considering I work for the DoD, I know it isn't true -- it's just nice to at least imagine someone got to smoke them.

I heard from another source that the cigars are real and they are from one of HABANOS SA official vendors.

They need to be burned immediately!
...I'm willing to assist in that endeavor.
(20th similar lame post?)
