Doesn't seem like someone would goes through so much trouble for "counterfeit " cigars.  Maybe the real distributors of the cuban's didn't want anyone to know that they were in fact "real" cubans.

My understanding is that they were headed to the Middle East and that SA Habanos cooperated with the seizure, since the cigars were fakes.  This info is worth exactly what you paid for it.
