General Discussion>#16 is due - just a matter of time now
Blueface 02:51 AM 01-21-2009
Well, started with some intense pain a few hours ago that soon subsided tolet me go back to sleep again...........until about 15 minutes ago.

#16 is on its way. Its destiny has been set now.
I wonder what I will name this one?
I wonder if I will be spared from enduring hours of pain or days.
I am seriously thinking about a trip to teh ER right now and the morphine and that buzz to the back of the neck as the injection goes through my veins.
That is probably the only good thing I get out of these darn kidney stones.

Since we are in a new year, I guess that now makes it 16 in 16 yrs.
Happy Birthday Stone!!!......well, soon hopefully.:-)

Well guys, painful yes but at least, this one came and went fast.
At 5:05 am, one heck of a monster was born.
The biggest stone I have ever passed by far.
I was quite fortunate that I didn't need to go to the ER.
The aftermath is quite draining.
Need to rest.

While 16 stones is quite an impressive number by any standard, I guess I have a ways to go for the record of 421.

Funny you say that.
Has nothing to do with it.
I actually seldom drink soda.
Sugar has no effect on stones.
Stress not found to be related.

They are caused by calcium oxilate.
That is found in just about all foods but specially high on some things such as spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, brussel sprouts, fruits such as strawberries or anything ending in "erries", on and on and on.
In addition, sodium is believed to be a culprit.
If you see the actual list of what one who suffers from stones can in fact eat, the only thing pretty much left on it is water. Heck if I want to live eating water.:-)

Some people like me have a chemistry composition that just traps the calcium in the kidney, little by little forming a stone or a few, as opposed to having the kidney let the oxilate escape via the urine. I am actually on medication to assist in the prevention of them. That lasted since July when I had my last one. I guess the bright side is I had 6 months or so stone free.

Well, as tired as I am, tried going back to sleep for a while but that is just not going to happen.
