he'd be a fool not to
he's a great college QB, he doesn't
project well as an NFL QB
I'm glad as a Texas fan though, I can't wait to see him and Colt duke it out next january

I think Tebow realized he won't be a good NFL QB. I think he has potential at another position though.
He is a hell of a college player though.

I'm glad for UF but kinda surpised in a greedy way.
What happens if he gets hurt next year?
If he goes top pick in 2 years, wouldn't that make him a Detroit Lion for 5 years or so?
Not surprised too much because it's Tebow and he's a leader who doesn't seem to think with dollar signs

A Gator Quarterback who can't play QB well in the NFL?
Danny Wuerffel
Rex Grossman
Shane Matthews
Chris Leak (free agent signing)
The Bears will pick him up for sure!!

Make no mistake about it, Tim Tebow will NOT be the #1 pick in any draft. He won't be a lottery pick, or even a first day pick. Tim is a great college player, he is an option QB, he won a Heisman Trophy and now has a BCS Trophy. The future of Heisman Trophy winners who were option QB's is bleak, see: Danny Wuerfel, Eric Crouch, Jason White, Charlie Ward. The only advantage he would have had by coming out this season would have been the rookie signing bonus cap that will likely be in place before the 2010 NFL Draft, but even that will effect the top 64 picks more than the bottom 212.

I suppose you are right, just trying to make the point that Tim Tebow is on the same level as those guys. A great college player that will likely not translate into a NFL QB.

Tebow may not ever be a NFL QB... but he is a heck of a college QB and may well end up being one of the best college players ever.

Another year for all of your Tebow man-crushes.

I think it shows great heart that he stayed. Although if he has a future career in the NFL, this will only delay his growth.

I think Tebow will have a great next season and be a for sure 1st day pick barring any injuries. Everyone forgets that the offense UF runs isn't Tebows choice. Meyer has a specific offense and Tebow fits into his system perfectly. So why would he try to throw the ball more if what they are doing now is working?
Why I think Tebow is better than Bradford? If you took Tebow and put him in the Oklahoma offense would they be successful? Absolutely. Could you put Bradford in the UF system and have the same sucess...doubtful. Tebow is a gamer, a fierce competitor and a heck of an athlete. He has things that none of the other QBS mentioned have and thats intangibles. I don;t think Tebow is a great passer by any means. but that doesn't mean he cannot be one. They just haven't asked him to throw the ball 50 times a game. If they did and he were successful people would just say he is a "product of the system"(aka Graham Harrell) While I think the offense will stay option based I would look for more passing development in the off season.
Overall I think regardless of how next season goes he will have a great career in the NFL, as long as he is drafted by the right team. If he goes to a place like the Lions and has to carry the team and make a million plays a game and doesn't have a good coach to develop him, he will last 3 yrs at the most. But if he goes to a team where he can learn the system, become a better passer and not have to worry about starting his first year or two out, he could be one of the best QBs ever...Plus who said he has to play QB in the NFL??? With the emergence of formations like "the wildcat" or the use of a h back, or TE these are all roles he could fill a void for. Tebow is a fierce competitor. Its every athletes dream to be able to make a statement like he did, and be able to follow through with it. I think the more people keep telling him he cant do this, or can't do that is going to fuel his desire to prove everyone wrong

From what I've read, it sounds like Tebow will use the next year to work on his passing technique and mechanics to help make himself more marketable as a NFL QB. He has already come a long way from where he started and I have no doubt that once he puts his mind to it, he will get the job done.
I wonder how him staying will affect the Harvin and Spikes decisions
:-)
