General Discussion>Your Favorite Singer EVAR!!!
shilala 09:22 AM 02-01-2013
Who's voice do you enjoy most, of all time?
For me there's so many it's almost impossible to nail it down. Most, if not all of them, are women.

I'm going to go with Alison Krauss.
Honorable mention to Sade, Whitney Houston, and Lucinda Williams. Sade drove me nuts, Whitney just had talent, Lucinda is just badass. There's so many more that go way back, but I'll leave it at that.

Oddly, my favorite song ever is Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Andy Williams.
That one is super easy. There's not a day gone by in 30 years I didn't hear that song in my head and it never gets old.
Go ahead and throw your favorite song in there, too. It'll be cool to see if it matches your artist.

Fixed it for ME, did you? :-) Hey, I've had too little coffee today, 'K?

For ballsy male singers, some often overlooked include Gregg Allman and Johnny Winter. And for mellow males, it's hard to beat Mel Torme.

It wouldn't have been as funny if you hadn't used a huge font.

Hey, I was BORN with this huge font. Jealous?

Upon further consideration, I'd have no objection to someone naming Roy Orbison or Sam Cooke . . . so I shall.

Female is easy for me....Gladys Knight (Hey, I'm a Detroit boy).

Male is tougher. From the Motown/Philadelphia genre, Phillipe Wynne, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson.

From Rock? Chris Cornell (going to Soundgarden tonight), Robert Plant...and Janis for the ladies of Rock. (That's Janis Joplin, not Janis Jackson). :-)

Hey, it's only Johnson's Baby Oil to baby this johnson. :-)

And for some odd reason that made me flash on the female singer Inva Mula. You don't know her? Yes, you do. She was the Diva Plavalaguna. You still don't know her? Yes, you do. She was the blue alien opera singer in The Fifth Element.

Told ya you knew her.
