Thank you guys. You brought a smile to me on a day that had me down a bit, though not for the age thing. That’s never bothered me. I kinda like embracing my inner curmudgeon.

No, yesterday I lost a good friend. He and I went through Scouts, grade, junior and high school together. We worked our way through the teen years, dating, the 60’s and 70’s, and wrenched on cars together. Over the years we stayed in touch, and whenever we got together we always picked up where we’d left off no matter how long the intervening years.
I saw him two months ago, and I think we both knew it might be the last time. Even then, the news I received of his passing was hard. Our friendship endured over fifty years.
So thanks for the good thoughts. They were appreciated a little more this time.
