Anyone smoke an Oliva V Melanio? I've been drooling over them ever since I saw them....

Same here! I really REALLY enjoyed the Serie V sticks I've smoked and been curious about these myself. Im about to pull the trigger on a box for the hell of it.

I haven't had any, but cigarsatyourprice.com has to have the best deal going on them. Prices range from $54-$87/box depending on size. Out of stock on most boxes, but worth it if you have the patience.

Not over hyped at all, I absolutely love the line. Oliva hasn't released a new line in five years, they took their time and made sure they got this one right
:-)

I have had two...the robusto and and No. 4 and was less than impressed. Maybe I expected too much from these. They were not bad sticks by any stretch of the imagination, they just tasted exactly like the regular Series V to me...but for a few dollars more. I still have the churchill and the torpedo to try yet, so I haven't completely written the Melanio off just yet.
:-)

+1. They were good, but really expensive.

I didn't think they were as strong as the V's, but that's me. I thought the V's were a little strong and the Melanios were more smooth, but that's just me.
And yes they are expensive.

Best Oliva cigar I have ever smoked, and one of my current faves. A great cigar.

It's good, I haven't personally heard a lot of hype about it so I can't say if it is overhyped or not, but it's a good smoke for sure.

They are a good smoke. Overhyped? I don't think so. But I do like an aged V Maduro over them. Would like to see what the Melanio does with some age like how the Maduros do.
I do like the smaller sizes more than the torpedo.

I like them a lot and do not think they are over hyped. But everyone has different tastes. I'd suggest trying the #4 or Robusto first.
