General Discussion>R.I.P. Beagle Bailey
Beagleone 12:54 PM 10-23-2012
Today, after battling cancer for most of this year, we had to put my beagle down. He was 12 y.o. and the namesake of my moniker. He enjoyed life to the fullest, and especially loved going to the cigar shops with me. It is a very sad day in my household as we lost not a pet, but a member of our family. He will be sorely missed, especially by me.

So sorry to hear this brother. I also have a beagle. I know how much pets can mean to a person.

So sorry for your loss. We had to put down our 13 1/2 year old Lab back in March. Hardest thing I have ever had to do.
My prayers are with your family.

So sorry for your loss. We had to put our beloved Jack Russell down earlier this year, what an amazingly brutal time. I truly feel for you.

Sorry to hear. We also have a beagle, affectionately referred to as "the hound".

My condolences to you and your family Tony. It's always tough to lose a member of the family. Take solace in knowing that he is in a better place and cancer free now.

We, too, have a wonderful and smart beagle, 3 years old. Just like you folks, he's a big part of our lives and losing him one day is going to be very hard. Sending a prayer out for your family as you folks grieve. As a devotional I read the other day said, "I won't ask You to lessen the weight of the world, Lord, but make my back stronger."

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I've spent the rest of the day reflecting on our time together. He may be gone, but Bailey won't be forgotten.

@Dave, yes, some day I will get another beagle, just not right away. I need some time to heal. I do follow the BRSM on FB and love seeing their photos. I am considering a rescue in the future because of them.

Tough! Hardest thing I had to do was put our "Lady" down. I do feel your pain, brother! It gets better with time, but I still tear up when I think of her and she died a decade ago.
