Most of the Teams have completed 81 games.
At the halfway point who gets your vote for the leagues top honors?

My Picks

MVP
AL : Josh Hamilton
NL : Joey Votto

Cy Young
AL: David Price
NL: RA Dickey

Rookie of the year
AL: Mike Trout
NL: Bryce Harper

I went with Hamilton over Miguel Cabrera because, as usual Cabrera has done it so quietly.
I would really like to see the Tigers surge and Cabrera win it, but to do that, they are going to need another bat.
If in the end Votto wins, he should thank Matt Kemp's hamstring in his acceptance speech.
I went with Price because he's 11-4 on a team that doesn't hit.
His SO and ERA are right up there with the rest of the leaders.

Who are your choices?

"If in the end Votto wins, he should thank Matt Kemp's hamstring in his acceptance speech." :-)

So should everybody in our fantasy league. :-)

I'm pretty much with you on all of that Dom, but I'm up in the air on a couple.

I'm not sure if he qualifies, but if he does Yu Darvish has to be AL ROY.

And not to be a complete homer but I think if the Mets end up in the playoffs and he keeps playing the way he is, David Wright is the NL MVP, and Cano has to be right up there for AL MVP.

.
I went with Trout because the way I see it when he showed up he turned the Angels around.
It doesn't hurt that he's leading the AL in Avg. either. :-)

Trout has been awesome - I think Darvish has too. Its a toss up, but considering that Trout is truly a rookie, I'm changing my vote and going with him.

AL ROY - Mike Trout
NL ROY - Bryce Harper

NL CY - R.A. Dickey
AL CY - David Price

NL MVP - David Wright
Al MVP - Robinson Cano

MVP
AL : Robinson Cano
NL : David Wright

Cy Young
AL: Chris Sale
NL: RA Dickey

Rookie of the year
AL: Mike Trout
NL: Bryce Harper

Trout and Harper are no brainers. Although Darvish has had a good year, the Rangers score tons for him and the White Sox are hit and miss. Without Wright and Dickey...the Mets are in the cellar. Me voting for a Yankee?? WTF??? :-) :-)

With comparable numbers across the board I would've thought you'd stump for Kirk Nieuwenhuis over Harper... :-)

Nieuwnhuis isn't gtting a chance to play everyday and Harper is. Though his numbers far exceed those of Andres Torres, he still has to fight for innings. Makes me wonder what the hell Collins is thinking. :-) :-)

Mac, as a Tigers fan it pains me to agree with you about Sale for the mid-season Cy Young...but I do agree with you.

I wanted to bring this to the top.
I keep hearing growing support for Mike Trout for AL MVP.
I cant for the life of me fathom how anybody would vote for him over Miguel Cabrera.
As it stands, Miggy is 1 homer shy of a triple crown!
There hasn't been a triple crown winner in 40+ years!
Am I that far off base?
Where is everyone else on this issue?

Not making a case against Miggy. But, what Mike Trout has done for the Angels, I can see why he is being mentioned. He has slowed down and Miggy has stepped up in the last few weeks. I think Miggy will win it and probably deserves it.

Adrian Beltre should get a mention, though. Miggy can hit, but can't hold Beltre's jock at 3rd.

Trout is an awesome player, and will be for many years. He is an easy ROTY choice. But Cabrera is MVP, anything else would be a a mistake.

Triple Crown = MVP imo. Only time a triple crown winner didn't get the MVP was Joe D. beating out Ted Williams with a 56 game hitting streak.

Trout has been better than advertised, and phenomenal. Any other year I'd say go for it, but Miggy is the MVP if he wins the triple crown, or comes real close.

Miggy gets my vote...hands down. 1HR shy of the Triple Crown...no brainer!! he started out the season kind of slow...but since the All Star break he has been on fire. Not a more feared hitter in the league IMHO.
