Looks like a long drive home from Arizona. If you are in AZ why would you want to go to Alaska? I'm in Oregon and sooooo sick of the crap weather I couldn't imagine AK!
If it were only the mobile I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole personally especially in a wet climate but with the cool shop/Apt it looks pretty neat. Don't pay (if you are financing) more than 25% of your NET income on the place and you will be golden.

What's all the white crap around the house?

The place is awesome, but I'd rather have my teeth yanks with pliers than have to live in that cold. And when the cold isn't so cold, it's bugs. Then more cold.
The more I type, the better the pliers look. :-)

Oh yeah the army moved me to alaska, half of it is going to be a rental and the garage the wife and I are going to live in. This is the first step of my retirement dream. 20 years from now we will remove the manufactured home and put up something a little nicer.

The winters suck a little up here but the summers are awesome so we will stick around for awhile.

That's sheer hell to me. I'm headed south in another 10 years, God willing. I'd far rather suffer heat and humidity and hurricanes than freezing.
It's not so much the cold, it's how dry it gets. I can't hack it.

You should be able to float or be really close to your mortgage payment on the main unit, from my estimation. Good for you!
