As some of my fellow BOTL have noticed, I have not been as active as I have been in the past....reason being; earlier this year after a routine check-up at my doctor's office, he (Dr. Jeffrey Herman) thought that I had an abnormal heartbeat, which he stopped me as I was about to leave his office. He had me come back into the office right then and there to give me a heart scan. He didn't like the results and immediately scheduled me for an echo cardiogram.
The results showed that my heart rate was only at 50% and I had an illregular heart beat. I was referred to a heart specialist (Dr. Stephen Timmis) who preformed a cadiac catherization, which depending on the results, could mandate surgery to include a pace maker or open heart surgery.
The procedure didn't show any blockage, so I was placed on a battery of meds and was told that if they didn't work, then I would need a pace maker..Well, after six months of meds, another echo cardiogram, and wearing a heart monitor...I finally received the results yesterday.
My heart rate is back up to 90%, my cholesterol dropped from 273 to 201, my bad cholesterol dropped from 183 to 113, and my illregular heart rate is down from 13% to below 1%.....no pace maker needed.
I can now hit the gym again....woot, woot. God is good!!!!!
