Wish I saw that before hand, oh well live and learn I suppose. If I don't like it I can take it back, I'm really just looking for something to throw my current 100 count humidor in and then a little extra space.

They don't always have them at that price, as those are open box items. Regular price is about $230 IIRC, which is still a very good deal.
I didn't know they had any open box items back in stock until I checked in the process of writing my post above.

SO my mission was accomplished so to speak. My humidor fits perfectly in the wine cooler. I'm not sure if I will keep it however. In order for it to fit I had to place the wine cooler on its side but it's elevated so air can still flow through. What are your thoughts?

lol.
I might have also misread the page and they were never in stock. I dunno.

Placing the appliance on it's side can cause issues with proper drainage of the condensation from the cooler.
If it were me, and I had to have a cooler, I'd return it and get a larger one.

Don't listen to Adam, he is not the first to post a one-off cooler at a great price. That cooler lasted about 10 minutes
before it was "Item no longer available". Open box items do that. He's just lookin out for ya. Man I wish I was not on
a
DIVEST mode and could actively take on new, heavy stuff. I would love to have the Brad stash be in a
cooler, er a wine-cooler anyway.

My thoughts? Honestly I'm with everybody else. Take it back (Lowe's has a pretty good return policy), wait for a Compact Appliance sale, buy an EdgeStar 28 bottle for twice as much money, getting easily 3-4 times as much storage space. Your humidor will sit nicely in there with plenty more room for boxes you may decide to buy with all your new extra storage space
:-)
Or don't wait for CA to have a sale. Target sells the Avanti 28 bottle for ~$200. I used credit card rewards, got some Target gift cards, and ended up only paying $50 for the thing. Alternatively, look on craigslist and see if anybody in your area is selling a Vinotemp, Edgestar, or Avanti 28 bottle cooler, they all work great
:-)

Well guys. I returned the 8 bottle and picked up a
34 bottle.

Is it compressor driven or thermoelectric? I only ask because I haven't seen many coolers above the 28 bottle size that are thermoelectric.

Then you should be good to go
:-)
Good choice by the way, you'll be more than happy with the upgrade I'm sure.

Other people might be more of an expert on this, but from what I've read (note: no personal experience) compressor coolers are harder to keep the RH at the right level because of the way compressors circulate the air (I think?). Anyway, apparently it's hard to keep the RH up. That's why you don't see many people using vinodors larger than 28bottles

Hmm alright, I'm gonna play around with this, how would I check if it is compressor?
