I didn't see this asked before but is there a significance to the Perdomo stickers on every box, that have sort and final on them, other than letting the manufacturer know who sorted and did the final inspection? Or are they some kind of grading on how good the box is? I had always thought it was just to show who sorted and did the final check but today I received a couple of boxes in the mail and one had the letter B for the final and the other had the number 12.
:-)

Also, are all Perdomo Lot 23 boxes from 2008? Or atleast say 2008 on the card inside?

i thinks its just a QC marking and not a grading marking.

Bingo.
That's all those stickers are - it's just a way for Perdomo to know who worked on that particular box. That's all.

Lol I'm wearing a silk....your sick man.
Haha so did the pictures of the cigars show up?
[Reply]
Ok - you weren't that clear as to the context of the 2008 as written on the card, so yes, the picture helps.
If the tobacco was aged until 2008, they were probably rolled in 2009.
The cigar has been around longer than that, 2006 for the naturals and 2007 for the maduro, so that's probably just a box that the vendor has had for some time.

What about the Connecticut? I believe these are different than the Naturals as most vendors have Naturals Connecticut and Maduro. I always thought natural and Connecticut were the same in the Lot 23?
Also, would that make these any better or worse?

No mention of Connecticut tobacco on Perdomo's website. It states that these are Nicaraguan puros, and all tobacco coming from the same farm plot.
Here's what Perelman's CigarCyclopedia has:
---BEGIN
PERDOMO LOT 23
Handmade in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Wrapper: Nicaragua Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua
Introduced in 2006, this is a medium-to-full-bodied blend which features interior tobaccos
grown on a single 103-acre lot near Esteli, Nicaragua. The crop was harvested in 2001 and
aged until 2005 when it was rolled with Connecticut Shade wrappers. Nicaraguan natural shade
and maduro wrappers were used on all sizes starting in 2007. All sizes are offered in all cedar
boxes of 20.
---END
So it looks like I was off on my dates a bit, and if I'm reading what Perelman wrote correctly, the Connecticut wrappers are no longer being used.

It makes them older.
Since the primary and secondary fermentations are past at this point, "better" is just a matter of how you like the flavors. Some people like aged NCs, some people like fresh NCs. It's just a personal taste really.

I saw that too but they are still for sale everywhere online and stores so I doubt they stopped production 6 years ago. Unless it is all back stock which would be a hell of a lot.

*shrug* ok, so if that's correct, and I don't know if it is or not (vendors don't always update sites correctly), then there are three capas for Lot23 in production. Doesn't change the years they started the production though.
Now, where's that photo of what you're wearing right now?
