General Discussion>A story of dedication to cigars
kydsid 08:00 AM 03-10-2011
I approach my truck cigar in mouth, coffee in one hand, lunch in the other, starting the work day commute like I do almost every day. Today was special in so many ways.

Open the door part way, fumble, cigar comes out of mouth, son of a, I react drop my coffee, wow thats hot!, DOUBLE OVER, fumble bumble head hits door, ouch, truck door flies open, hits garage wall, THUD, drop luch on my toe, oww, but SUCCESS, catch the cigar as it rolls down my leg. no 5 second rule needed. Pick up coffee cup, sans coffee, pick up lunch. Can't close door, huh, O its gone through the drywall, gah!, truck door is dented and scraped. oh well time to go to work.

As i drive cigar in mouth, windows down in short sleeves on a gorgeous crisp clear 50deg morning everyon with a confused look at the crazy texan who must be freezing gets an extra special nod and big smile. For they do not know the dedication it took to enjoy this cigar!

It wasn't lit yet. If it had been I'm sure there would have been at least one additional ouch in the story.

Thanks everyone else. Just thought I'd share a funny story and yes it was a great drive to work and the day has gone well since.

Nice story! I can understand the "dedication" aspect. However, what I got from this is that as long as you have something in your life that is enjoyable to you, the other stuff is just fluff and doesn't matter as much.
