Rogen was left speechless when Lucas and Steven Spielberg joined a movie meeting he was a part of - but the encounter has left him worried his life will be over next year.

He recalls, “George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012, like, for real. He thinks it.

“He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ’My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry...’

“I first thought he (Lucas) was joking... and then I totally realized he was serious and then I started thinking, ’If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself... So I asked him... ’Can I have a seat on it?’

“He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go... It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”
:-):-):-)

Not sure if Rogen or Lucas is serious, but if Lucas is being serious then I will lose a bit of respect from him.

Yep, world's ending, and it'll be a shame if all those wonderful cigars, tea, bacon related products, beer, etc. that you all have go to waste.

And so, let me help you with those things! I'll make sure they don't go to waste. PM me for my addy!

Dang, that I'd beat Darrell to post in a Star Wars related thread :-)

Anyhow, don't know if the story is credible but Lucas sure can make an amazing movie :-)

Wait, isn't he rereleasing the Star Wars movies in 3d starting in 2012 going through 1017? Why is he wasting the time? Especially if the only one we are going to see before the world is destroyed is the worst one?

It does seem strange, considering he spent all that time having Hayden Christiansen rerecord all of the Vader dialogue from the original trilogy...

You know, if this really happened, I could totally see George deadpanning it with the 2012 stuff.

I can also see Rogen, Lucas and Spielberg sitting around making all this crap up for Rogen to relay to the press. It's not like anything could hurt Lucas or Spielberg at this point and Rogen could easily deliver the story to the press and make it believable.

Are you frickin' serious?

I knew hanging on to my laser disc player and the original Dolby surround versions of the first three movies would eventually pay off. These are the versions that were identical to the original theatrical releases - same soundtracks and dolby processing, no extra footage, no CGI and Han shot first...

Viva la MPEG-1...

At least pretty close. Lucas made some adjustments to the original film (Ep. IV) with the opening title about three times in the first year or two that it came out.:-)

Worst part is, it's somewhat believable the way he has already tweaked the shots and storylines so that they all match up.

Yeah, I was thinking of the "Han shot first!" debate when I posted it.
