A couple years ago I found some of my Grandfather's old Zippos and have been collecting them ever since. Anyone else like to collect?

Well at the moment my collection is tiny, maybe ten or so. I have 4 from the 70's, 1 from '65, and then several current models. My parents bought me a nice wooden case to store them in and it just ramped up my excitement to look for new ones to add to my collection. Figured someone else here might do the same thing.

Wow joe camel, haha damn the government ruling he was attracting kids to smoking. Looks like some of those are prolly worth quite a bit of money. That is a cool collection you got there.

I have a few from various places I visited while in the Coast Guard. I'll take some pics to post this week of them. They tell a great story of where I have been too. I think I will let everyone figure it out when I post them.

A friend of mine from The Netherlands is an avid Zippo collector. He also adopted a grave at a local military graveyard where a lot of American soldiers are buried after the 2nd world war. Last year he went to visit the family of the soldier who's grave he takes care off. That family lives close to the Zippo factory and arranged a tour for him, he even got to drive the Zippo car

and Zippo gave him a lighter with the name, rank, id number and day of death of the young hero who lost his life fighting for our freedom

Wow, that is awesome. REALLY cool.
I'm in that phase where I'm deciding what I want the collection to look like. I want to collect old ones, but I'm not sure yet what direction to go. Am I JUST looking for old or am I looking for something specific. Dont know yet...

I have always liked zippos. Don't collect, but I won't buy any other lighters. One chrome, and one flat black.

haha, Macsauce, I see a Reddy Kilowatt lighter in there. Ah, nostalgia.

Yes sir. Actually two. One is essentially brand new, and the other was worn out by my Grandpa. They are my favorites in the collection, because I know he used them a lot.
I can't wait to see this grow, and man, I hope Granddad can see 'em!
