This is my first review of a cutter. Ive used several diffrent cutters in the past (Xikar Xi2, House brands) but this is by far the best cutter i have ever used/bought. Its the Xikar Xi MTXBL and for the low low price of $40, I am extreamly happy there is a life time warranty. It comes with Scissors and multi tools. ie: a cigar poker, cigar box opener, screwdriver, and bottle opener. The Scissors will cut up to a 54 ring gauge. Unlike some of the cutters in the past that i have used, this one does not chop the cigar, its a nice smooth cut. I will definitely be reccomending this to any cigar smoker.

I've often thought of getting one; this may well do it. Thanks.

These scissors are on the mashup (cigarmonster.com) for 46 more minutes. I bought them $24.98 Shipped.
If you don't get them I would advise waiting till cigarmonster has them. They are up there QUITE often for the same $24.98 shipped UPS ground free.
EDIT they are the bead blasted ones.

I cannot wait to try them. I've been anxiously waiting to buy these. Next up probably a V-Cut and a punch.

I bought these scissors a couple months back, and as much as I hate to admit it (because I love my Palio), I use these to cut the most of my cigars now. My Palio still has it's place, I definitely like a double guillotine cut sometimes, but the scissors just have a finesse to them that cut my cigars so easily and well. I definitely suggest picking up a pair of them since they work well AND they're very portable (they fold up so tiny I barely notice them in my pocket!).

I agree, I do love my Palio quite a bit but I still think their are better cutters out there and I intend on finding them. So these Xikar scissors are my first buy, then a Xikar V-cut, Xikar punch and probably a Prometheus or a Lamborghini cutter.

I've had mine for 3 years now...wouldn't do without it. I've used it for everything from a lancero (not very often) to a 64 rg. I always have something to bleed and adjust my lighters. I have tons of cutters but it is the easiest to carry with its nice little leather case so it's the one that gets the most use. Love it.

I would say Palio is at the top of it's category, but what I meant was I actually was starting to prefer scissors over the guillotine style cutter, and these MTX scissors are just really nice and sharp
:-) I'm actually not a huge fan of Xikar's double guillotines *shrug*

Yeah Brian that's what I meant with the scissors. Other side style squeeze cutters might be worth a try that's where I'm going. No normal guillotine cutter is going to replace a Palio. I'm just toying with the idea of different style cutters and them being better for me, not better in general.

For some reason I cannot get a perfectly straight cut with a Palio it's ALWAYS like 5-10 degrees off and it annoys the piss out of me. Ever so slight but always a little off. It's just me, no idea why but it is. I think these scissor will be my new favorite cutter.

See ive tried the tear drop from Xikar, tried guillotine cuters it always seems to just chop the end of my cigars. But the scissors have a nice smooth cut doesnt chop. I havent tried the Pallio yet but someday i will.

As somebody said earlier, watch cigarmonster.com for a good deal on these. They usually end up having them a few times a week for less than $30 and free shipping.
Alternatively I actually picked mine up at seriouscigars.com for $25.40 with some other smokes and shipping wasn't bad at all. Without a special sale being run, these are the cheapest I've seen them.

Yea that was me just scored them for 24.98 Shipped of cigarmonster.
Knip you'll like the Palio it's really great for shaving the cap off.
I have an XI and I keep it for the sole reason for cutting cigars in half (essentially) if they are VERY plugged. I just cut off a quarter inch each time. Usually saves me a few cigars a month.
