I was watching the tower style humidors over on cbid and I came across a deal I couldn't refuse... I ended up with
this humidor delivered cheaper than it costs to purchase it... so its being delivered tomorrow, while I won't be home, my wife will (yes she's ok with it... she even suggested it be put in our dining room as it matches the furniture). My question becomes, does anyone else have anything similar and what tips or tricks for humidity are you using (i.e. oust fans... 2 lbs of beads...etc, weatherstrip the doors....) Thanks for the help in advance!

I have the Tower of Power off CBid. I originally had the Humicare XL (Hydra LG copy) humidification device which I used to season it and then had in for the first couple of months. It wouldn't keep a steady humidity level. Since I've moved it to the basement and switched to 2lbs of Shilala's beads, no other humdifier device has been needed. Rock solid at 67%. I have 1/2lb bags spread through the shelves and drawers. I may have to put the Humicare back in once winter hits and the furnace is kicked on. We'll see.

Steve. Where you been Brother? Great looking tower. Only tip, don rush the seasoning. Give it some time, be patient. In that time figure out what your gonna store and where.
Then fill her up and take some pics!

Hiding... busy as hell with work and my wife's grandparents both passed away within 10 days of each other.... The filling her up will be a marathon not a sprint... it'll just be nice not to have dig everything out of the cooler to find a stick
:-)

That's terrible about your wifes grandparents. I hope everything went as smooth as possible for your family and hers.
I hear ya on the cooler. That is my biggest and most annoying problem, digging something out of one of the coolers.
I wish you the best of luck with your latest purchase!

Hey dom, I see that the LG has the ability to add additional fans... does it have a plug for more than one additional fan... (I'm also into computers so I have some fans lying around the house)?

You need the kit which comes with one fan
You can add 2 additional fans (for 3 total) after the kit
They use the 3 pin molex motherboard connection not the 4 pin PS type
