So, I know this is a common question, so I will preface with this: I have purchased a Xikar Xi Cutter, and a Palio, and loved the Palio to bits. Unfortunately, a week after I received it, I somehow lost my Palio & my ST Dupont Xtend while moving all my cigar stuff (on Sunday). Pretty much the most devastating loss (cigar-wise) I've received...
:-)
I still have my Xikar, and a Xikar 009 punch (which I adore). I also have another ST Dupont lighter on the way. However, I did enjoy my Palio for the time I had it, and hopefully it will show up before I move out of this apartment at the end of the month... My question is, should I buy another Palio, or should I go with a ST Dupont cutter? I really liked the Palio, but the finishes are very... plasticky. The ST Dupont cutters look phenomenal, and the red gloss finish that would match the lighter I purchased would look fantastic. But does the ST Dupont have a good cut, or will I inevitably go back to buying a Palio?
Thanks for reading through all of that. I appreciate any responses.
Krishna

I have had many cutters and my Palios win hands done regardless of finish. Its all about functionality.
In my experience if you lose a Palio then order another the original will become jealous and reappear

Just make sure it's the double bladed st. dupont, if you want something flashy. Otherwise, I'd just go for the Palio.

Palio, I'd rather have a cutter that works than a cutter that looks good. Besides, their customer service is amazing. If it breaks, you get a new one. NO questions!

Go for the palio, much cheaper and way better than the Dupont cutter.

Palio all the way. Duponts are for those that like to show-off.

Although the Duponts look nice you can't beat the cut of a Palio.

Palio or Xikar Multi-tool
I like the Xikar a bit more only because it folds neatly into my pocket.

Another vote for the Palio. I haven't found a cutter that I like better than that one.

Yeah... Actually I had ordered another one a long time ago, but it was backordered until now. And looks like the Palio wins out... Probably burl wood finish (I had the carbon fiber finish on my old one)... Maybe if I have money burning a hole in my pocket in a few weeks, I'll get the ST Dupont.
Thanks guys!

Heh... all you guys and your fancy cutters, I have had nothing but clean cuts since purchase with my $1 Guillotine Cutter. It's the first and only cutter I have ever owned.

Get back to us when you've cut 10+ years worth of cigars with it

I still cannot justify getting a 50-60 dollar cutter when if this one happens to break, I can just go to my B&M and get another one for a buck.
