I read that a couple days ago...but has it occured to anybody else that this is a horrible, horrible idea? Imagine it, some girl is using this, a guy decides to rape her. This guy is already obviously a violent and uncaring individual. When he gets this device stuck on him, what is he going to do? Stop and be like "oh, sorry, I guess I need to get this removed now"? No, he'll be insanely pissed and will likely beat the crap out of this girl or kill her. This doesn't seem like a rape deterrant so much as a murder rate increase.
Alternatively, any rapist in that area will just start checking before sticking anything in now. Seems like it wouldn't be too easy to conceal.
I applaud the effort, but it just came off as a bad idea to me *shrug*

Once word gets out, I predict a sharp rise in rapes involving sodomy and/or a beer bottle for the opening act.

That is strange. And what woman is going to wear this thing 24/7? I mean I'm all for it but geez.
It says it is painful but won't break the skin. I can see it now. Guy rapes girl with the "teeth". He tries to take it off and it gets tighter but won't break the skin. He has to get it surgically removed and then he sues the woman and the company who made this for millions since he now has "damage" and can't get it up again.
I heard of stranger things than this that have been awarded millions in court cases.

I just read another thread about cutting your cigar with a knife - this is certainly another way to cut your "cigar"
:-) And yes, I know that was completely tasteless and I'm not making light of sexual assault, etc.

This is in South Africa.
The example you are referring to would be in America.
