Hey, I'm engineering a new kind of humidor. I'm in the R&D phase and if there's a market for it I'm going to start working on a business plan. Otherwise I'm keeping it all for myself
:-)
If you have a second take my survey:
Survey
Thanks all

Mr. C,
If you are working on a travel humi, please drop me a PM if you need a prototype field tester. I travel a lot (seen "Up in the Air"?) and would likely be willing to put one through the paces. If it is a desktop, cabinet, etc. - then I won't be of much assistance.

Did your survey, but really all I need are more coolers.
:-):-)
Well... maybe a larger traveller....

Did your survey.
The question "Would you pay more for a humidor that keeps your cigars fresh?" is confusing. Don't all humidors keep your cigars "fresh"?

I had a brilliant R&D idea for him as I was filling out the survey. Lets see if he rolls out a prototype anytime soon!
Too bad I suck at things like that, I would design and patent it myself!

Yeah, generally I want cigars with some age, why would I want my CCs to taste ROTT forever?

I looked at the survey. . . pass. . . you're new here, so I'll try to be nice. Are you working hard to find something to sell to the cigar business? Or, do you actually have an idea? If you just want to create 'something' to sell in the cigar business. . . take some good advice and give it up! Sometimes the best advice is NOT sugar coated. . . I'd love to help you bring something good to the show. And NO. . . I don't need another product nor do I need the money. I did mine for fun and I've always said:
"when this quits being fun. . . I'll either sell it or just shut it down." (it's still a lot of fun) If you have a really significant idea for cigar humidors. . . why waist you time with surveys? Really! Your survey is obviously self indulging, rudimentary and redundant. Also: FWIW. . . glass top humidors are strictly for newbies and the "look at me" guys. REAL cigar enthusiasts would never expose their cigars to any light source. But, they continue to sell glass tops because some guys justify their own desire to look at (and stare at) their cigars. Fascinating! What's a few internet forum opinions going to give you? Accolades? If your idea has any merit what-so-ever, get the prototype built! My experience with a new product was NOT to bring something to the cigar business.
I MADE IT FOR ME! And, as it turned out, there were a bunch of other cigar-nuts who have the same need(s). People kept asking me for one. I got some "
professional" help and badda-bing. . . it's in the 6th year~! ~ !

Do you really expect anyone to say it is anything but "significant"?

ZERO....isn't the whole idea behind having a humidor to keep your cigars in good condition??

You have to make a market for your product!! Go out and share you idea with the world, forget the little survey, how much is that really going to influence the product that you have in your head. The questions you have on there are almost like you have no clue about what a humidor should be.
All of them pertaining to RH, Temp, etc should all be very significant to a cigar smoker. If all of those were insignificant to us, we would just put our cigars out on the counter.

But this is just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong.
