they boast 100+ new user features, new enterprise services and security, etc etc, looks really great, this moves me a lot closer to getting an iphone vs another one, in july when new hardware will likely come out

This is killing me... As of April 25 I am eligible for discounted pricing on an iPhone. I didn't get one two years ago because of no 3G coverage in my home area. They told me they didn't think we would be getting 3G. Of course we did and I have been drooling ever since. Now I hear the new iPhone will be released in July/August and I guess I will wait some more!!

Yeah a little more wait for the hardware my friend. I was able to test out the 4.0 beta SDK. Really cool in some respects, and needs some definite tweaking in others.

All in all, I will be selling my 3GS and getting the new phone when it arrives :-)

Definitely hold out for the new one. With 3G getting as good as it is, this phone should really scream. I'll keep you guys posted with any official news(I work for AT&T).

Hahaha hang on, lemme clock in first! Oh, look at that! It's time for my break. Someone will eventually saunter up to you, pretend to help, and try to sell you on another service. Have a nice day! :-)

I know people give AT&T a lot of sh*t, but I just wanted to say I've never been happier with a wireless company. Was with Verizon for the last 7-8 years and didn't have any problems with them. Switched to AT&T a year ago when we moved down to Phoenix and have been a happy customer ever since. :-)

Jason, you seem like a nice guy, so I will keep my AT&T issues local. :-)

Just FYI (correct me if I am wrong), but the 3GS will be able to everything on 4.0 minus the new hardware additions to the new iphone.

From all the chatter, yes. But you never know with apple. That's the way it went with the 3G when the new software for the 3GS came out.

Oh, and Icehog, I appreciate it, but just ask the S.H.I.T. guys, I'm really just a dick, hahaha

I still got the first iphone, what would it cost to upgrade to the newer version. I know the bill will be more with 3G.

Yep, same here. All I hear is complaints about AT&T, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Have a 3G signal 99% of the time I am on my phone, have dropped two calls in the 9 months I have had my iPhone, and have never had any of those dreadful billing issues I always hear about.

Looking forward to the new 4.0 update and next-gen hardware coming out this Summer. Wont' be eligible for an upgrade, so hopefully used 3GS phones will still be commanding a pretty penny when I go to sell.

Why? Developers already have ad's in all their "free" apps, and most have learned that the real money in app development is ad based revenue off the free apps and not selling their aps for $x.xx per. iAd will just replace the method by which ads are delivered meaning the app is less cluttered. If you don't want the ads just buy the paid version of the app.

I was a loyal Verizon customer for about 5 years, then last year switched to AT&T and the Iphone 3GS. I can say that AT&T hasn't been that bad. I travel a lot and not always in a 3G zone, but the phone hasn't dropped many calls, nothing like when I was on AT&T before Verizon. With that said, should Verizon ever come out with a Iphone on their network, I'll be switching back. Their network might not be as fast at AT&T, but you rarely drop a call and their 3G coverage is much better.
