Men, the time has come for me to hand off my role as a troop supporter to one of CA's finest, hotreds. Hugh and I have been talking about this and he has agreed to carry on our wonderful tradition. I have transferred your troop support donations to Hugh along with our contacts in the sandbox.
Over the years you have been responsible for thousands and thousands and yes, thousands of cigars shipped to our men and women in harms way. This doesn't count the hundreds of pounds of comfort items and your support of our Holiday programs, contests, raffles, auctions, and fund raisers.
It has been my honor, indeed my privilege, to have met so many of you and befriend countless others here on CA. There is no way I can remember everyone who has supported our troops with your generous donations. So to each of you I say, God bless you and thank you.
Hugh has earned my respect and admiration with his unrelenting support of our troops. I know he will take this effort to the next level. Please welcome a true BOTL and my friend Hugh, "hotreds".
Fred

Thanks, Fred, for the effort you have put forth. Your dedication has inspired many of us to step up and contribute.
I have no doubt Hugh will do a fine job. But the shoes he is filling are quite large.
Salutes to you, my friend.

Incredible job, Fred. I'm sure it's been very satisfying, too.
I can't imagine a better brother to fill those shoes.

Thanks for all that you have done Fred.
:-)
I don't think there is anyone better than hotreds (Hugh) to take over for the troops. Hugh and his wife are the nicest and most generous people you will ever meet.
Thanks to Fred and Hugh!

Fred, "Thank You" hardly seems enough for all you have done both here and at CS for the Troops..and allowed us to feel a part of it all the way. You have our admiration, respect and gratitude for all you have done.

Fred,
I have no doubt that Hugh will do an absolutely wonderful job in his new role. He is a generous and thoughtful BOTL who is well liked and respected on the board. You would have been hard pressed to find someone better.
However, that is not to say you won't be missed in this role. Your dedication, selflessness and perserverance have earned you my respect and admiration. I salute you, Mr. Tolson.
It is also my fervant hope that we see you wandering the halls of the Asylum. I know life sometimes intrudes on this hobby of ours and access to the board.takes a back seat to the real world, but I for one want you to know your presence is sorely missed.
Thanks for your efforts, Fred. We can all take a lesson from you on walking the talk.

While I am not from the US I have heartily supported the troops and will continue to do so. Fred you are an inspiration to many for the time you have taken out of your life to unselfishly support those that put their lives on the line to keep this world free from oppression.
I tip my hat to you sir, may all the Karma you have unleashed upon the world be returned to you 10fold, you are very deserving of all our gratitude and more. I still hope to get a chance to shake your hand one day.

Fred, Thank you so much for all you have done over the years to make our donation program possible. Before I joined the old site I had never directly done anything to support our troops overseas. Through your hard work and dedication I was introduced to a form of support which had never crossed my mind. To directly interact with individual soldiers has been a truly rewarding experience. I have been inspired to be the main collection point for the Northern California botl's and collect at every herf.
As Tom said, "Thank you" is not nearly enough for all you have done over the years. But, Thank you none the less.
Hugh, Thank you for stepping up and good luck. I am confident you will do a great job and if there is anything we can do to make things easier, please dont hesitate to ask.
