General Discussion>Something I do not recommend.

When going downstairs to the bar for a beer last night, (mind you, it wasn't a "consecutive" beer by any means) it was dark. Knowing my way around my house prett well in the dark, I don't turn on the lights when I have a simple task to do that doesn't require more than rudimentary hand/eye coordination in conjunction with a simple task.
Do Not, repeat, Do Not, stack a couple sets of spare speaker stands in the vicinity of the under counter beer fridge. If you do, and they are black, and you forget your dumb ass put them there, you may have a problem.
I tripped. I fell. I impaled my wrist on an upside down speaker stand. With isolation spikes facing up.

I crucified my right wrist on one.

Now... the good part is that I had two sets of stands residing in the wrong spot, and rather than impaling my wrist on the inch and a half long spikes, I did so on the short 1/4"-ers. I also got lucky that I missed those blood carrying tube-y things under my skin. I think I bruised some stuff. I think the point may have come into contact with a part of my wrist that shouldn't really come into contact with sharp pointy things.
It didn't bleed a lot, but I swear I could see a reverse imprint of the offending metal chunk.

Like play-doh.

Note: a quarter inch long little machined cones of metal don't sound so scary.
Until you plunge one into your wrist below your thumb.

It hurts.

It throbs.

It wakes your ass up at night.

Don't do it.

Self-crucifixion is best left to um... other folks.

Better to light a candle, rather than curse the darkness.

:-)

Glad you weren't hurt more.

Okay. self-crucifixion is bad. I'll make a note of it. Thanks for blazing that trail for me, Pete. You are a close personal friend and I respect your opinion.

I was just saying the other day I am in need of a good self-crucifixion of a body part. Thanks for the advice. I will skip using my wrist.

Hope you heal quickly.

After that I would have forgotten the beer and gone straight to the bourbon to kill the pain.

I was wondering where you were last night Pete. You might want to get a shot before it gets infected.(Just ask Tom :-))
