All Cigar Discussion>Favorite Flavor?
akumushi 01:14 AM 09-24-2009
I thought it would be interesting to hear what flavors other people look for in the cigars they smoke, and what cigar exemplifies that for them. I for one, am addicted to that sweet tingling in the nose exhale that says SPICE! For me, a good PSD4 has that spice in the nose in spades. On the palate I like some sweetness, cedar, nuttiness and/or floral flavors, but that cinnamon spice in the nose is what I crave. I don't feel like I've had a proper smoke without it. How about you?

Floral and Cinnamon. Once in a great while I'll pick up a vanilla flavor and I love it!

I really like when cigars have that earthy flavor with a little toasted coffee. MMmmmm.

I don't really have a favorite per se, but I do look for certain flavors in cigars. Mostly sweet and twangy. Both of which are subjective.

I do want to say that I have enjoyed every cigar which has the flavor of what I call "gold". It's hard to describe, but if gold had a flavor in a cigar that is what I would look for. Trinidad's and Boli's have this flavor to me.

Also, I love DPG's stuff and the initial spice blast, and the sweet Nic leaf. Heck... I just love cigars! LOL

I like cigars that have a little bit of floral perfumed flavor, not too much spice because I like cigars to be smooth and not too sweet either. Bolivar PCs are what comes to mind when I think of my favorite flavor. One of only 3 cigars I buy by the box. The others are Shorts and Monte #4s, but those have a little less floral and more leather. Usually I'm in the mood for one of these three.

I like the espresso / cocoa flavors that develop in certain sticks.

It depends on the stick. Coffee and chocolate in maddies, cedar in corojo, and spice is always good.

I pretty much like any flavor present in a decent cigar and I think I respond more to "texture." I want a nice smooth smoke that doesn't irritate or itch the back of my throat--so I can't pick a favorite flavor! Maybe cedar? I really like a nice woody taste.

I really dig that vanilla-y/grahm-y flavor I get from Davidoffs... to bad you have to sell kidneys to buy them... :-)

While smoking, I love the Cinnimon/Nutmeg/Spice aromas. On the Pre-light I love whatever it is the MY Father smells like. :-)
