So pushing the melting point of tin could be a problem? :-)

I have the same one.

Mine was defective from the get-go. Worked once after salt testing, and hasn't worked since.

i think that may be a sign that the salt test kills them maybe ? :-)

You will get crazy readings like that when the battery is going dead. At least that's been my experience.

Mine took a spill, the battery fell out and it has been stuck at 180 degrees since. The RH seems to still be correct, which is good enough for a travel humi.

I've got 4 hygrosets and they have all been great, first one I've had any issue with. Just thought i'd it post since it is pretty freaking funny.

I think that you should be incredibly worried about them and send all your sticks to the first newbie who posts that you should send them to him for inspection and/or destruction. After all, such imaginative and unique suggestions should be rewarded. :-)

I would double check all temp guages if it is accurate the beetles can hatch at over 75 F. That's my understanding.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm pretty sure by the time you get to 183F, any beetles would have melted. Or popped. :-)
