Well,
My 1 yr old daughter got into my Vinotemp and tore open one of my bags of HCM beads.
Luckily she didn't go for any cigars.
So, I went to Home Depot and looked at the latches and locks.
I found a Sash Lock for $1.49. It is similar to what is used on windows. I didn't want an actual lock, just something that would keep little hands out.
Here is how it looks.

Just wanted to post this in case someone needs to do something similar.

Nice save. I wouldn't worry about the cigars so much but rather the child eating some beads. Good thing my end-table came with locks.

is it good for aging if your kid is at 65% RH?

Yep. I didn't realize it would match so well.
It had a reduced price for some reason.
My daughter walked over to the Vino this morning and tried pulling. Gave up after a few seconds. I couldn't be happier that it worked so well.

Keep an eye on that.
My middle child is 1.5 and she can already operate turning door locks and can easily pop the snap on igloos and open them if she finds one. Just be carefull. While not as pretty the childproof option shown by greg works well.

Did you just use a standard house drill to drill the screws in? I want to do that but add latches with small pad locks.

I have a Ryobi Lithium Cordless drill.
I just grabbed a drill bit that was the right size. Have to be a little carful on the metal as it takes a little to start the hole. If you don't keep a steady hand the bit can slip and scratch the metal.

So far she hasn't noticed the lock.
She does like playing with the light, though.

My 2yr old started pressing all three buttons simultaneously and broke the cooler unit.
I was thinking of installing a lock and key on the door, but did not see one that would fit for a novice to install.

That does look nice, thanks for sharing. I am in the same boat with a 15-month old daughter who likes to get into everything. Fortunately she hasn't realized my vino actually opens yet! But I personally want a lock as it will only be a matter of time and I don't want anyone messing with my cigars and leaving the door open for an extended period of time.
Here is what someone found when I posed the question of looking for a lock. I like it because there is no drilling involved, but it definitely doesn't look that nice. I haven't bought one yet, but probably will...
