I have DPG lanceros on the brain!
I've now done a fair bit of research and narrowed down my to-try list. I know about that DPG lancero sampler (and I still may give in to temptation and snag one), but a lot of the thrill is in the hunt and that just swipes it away.
Anyway, I've read some reviews here (and elsewhere) and I have some guesses about the breakdown, but I'm really curious how close a race it might turn out to be.
I'm not going to elaborate on stylistic preferences because this isn't about 'Which is perfect for me?' I'm sure I'll probably try them all, eventually. This is more of a 'What's
your favorite?' Any elaboration on the 'why' or on how many of these you've compared would be way groovy icing, but isn't strictly necessary.

No My Father Lancero?
Not big on lanceros but the my father is pretty damn good. I also like the tat especial, that one is getting my vote from your selections.

I have only tried the blue lancero so far. Need to try the others.

1. Hirsh y Garcia - I think it's his best blend overall.
2. Tat Esp - Very complex and simply delicious.
3. Blue Fundadores - The blend for the Blue fits this vitola the best, imo.
4. El Triunfador - Love the Cabaiguan blend and again, fits this vitola perfectly with the broadleaf wrapper, imo.
5. Cubao - Nice and strong.
Of the ones in the poll, I guess it would be the Tat.

voted blue since that's my favorite of the ones I've tried but I suspect the Tatuaje Esp. is
:-) too bad I've never seen them.

Ah, the -stealth Pepin-. May have to add that one back into the mix.

I went with the Serie JJ, due to the absence of the My Father.
And yes, I went with the sampler... couldn't resist

I don't think the Cuban Classic has the lancero size.
I've tried the Lancero sampler, all were very good. I've tried the triunfador and liked it as well. The Tatuaje Especiales was good too. I don't think you can miss.
I enjoyed the DPG Blue Lancero the most. A lof of spice and complexity and one hell of a smoke.
For what's not on the list, My Father and Cubao are also very tasty lanceros. The Tatuaje Havana VI Victorias (not a true Lancero, its only 6X38) was the only one I didn't really enjoy.

The DPG lancero sampler are not lancero's. They are shorter than most lanceros, but with a pigtail. The newer Blue Label Fundadores is a different size from the sampler Blue.

Wow! That's vital info. Thanks, Bobarian!
Not only did you just save me some money and some grief, you've reinvigorated
the hunt.
:-)
I wonder why they made
that decision. I didn't even think to look at the dimensions in the product description.
