He has also opened a new factory in Nic. and these will be made there in Esteli, Nicaragua at Tabacalera Villa Cuba.
The two new blends which will highlight his new Nicaraguan production include:
Patel Brothers, the realization of the long-discussed collaboration between Rocky and his brother Nish on a full-bodied, richly-flavored cigar. This new blend uses Nicaraguan-grown leaves for the binder and filler, but wrapped in a surprising Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper! Sizes:
> Robusto 5 inches by 50 ring
> Torpedo 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring
> Toro 6 inches by 52 ring
> Super Toro 6 1/4 inches by 52 ring
All sizes will be offered in boxes of 20.
Rocky Patel 1961, named for the year Rocky Patel was born, is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar with Nicaraguan-grown filler leaves, a Honduran binder and an Ecuadorian-grown, Habano-seed wrapper. Rocky Patel Premium Cigars director of marketing Sam Phillips characterizes it as “rich and spicy, yet smooth and elegant.” Sizes:
> Robusto 5 inches by 50 ring
> Torpedo 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring
> Toro 6 inches by 52 ring
> Corona 5 1/2 inches by 44 ring
All sizes in this blend are also offered in boxes of 20.
Also included, a bundled cigar, the
Rocky Patel Corojo Especial, the second in a series which he began last year with the Cameroon Especial – one of the best values in his line-up. The Corojo Especial has a Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper and Nicaraguan-grown binder and filler leaves for a medium-bodied heft. Phillips calls the taste “robust and earthy with a sultry spice.”
The sizes for this line are the same as for the Cameroon Especial:
> Robusto 5 inches by 50 ring
> Torpedo 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring
> Toro 6 inches by 52 ring
As with the Cameroon Especial, this blend will be available in bundles of 20.

This seems a little silly, though.

Ah- the famous 'all things to all people' special! A crowd-pleaser, that one.

I know some folks don't care for Rocky, but I like quite a few of his smokes. He certainly believes in keeping active.

I saw a new one from RP on the Holts catalog cover, called Royal Order.
Heck, I've only had one Ocean Club, and they've been out for months.
I'm due for a trip to Holts at the end of the month. Might pick up some
just to try them.

I try to save them up and send them to Chas.
I can't find one I like. I do like Tabac Fuerte's though. Go figure?

The Vigilante (the only place I've seen them is at CI) is an awsome mild smoke on the cheap. I'm always open to trying a new RP.
Is it me or do a lot of new releases seem to be only coming out in 50 RG or bigger? I would like to see a lot more corona, corona gorda, panatela, PC, lancero type smokes.
:-)

The 1961 and Corojo Especial sound like something I could see myself at least trying. Sure wish they'd discover a vitola besides robusto and toro though myself.
