Not if you're an engineering major :-)

Nothing really. I needed 12 credits to keep financial aid as a fulltime student. Had 6 that I needed this term to be on course for graduation. Which meant I had to find 6 credits of just... whatever...

That was an easy choice for 3 of them :-)

Nice choice for a course :-)

It would be awesome if they had a course about tobacco. :-)

You are only taking an intro course now? I did that when I was a freshman in the first semester. Come to think of it I took intro, intermediate and advanced that first semester. :-)

unless this is your first semester you should be in the graduate level of this course by now.

Didn't offer that course when I went to college (some 15 years ago). Maybe I need to go to graduate school...LOL!!

:-)... I should have at least a masters in it by now.... but at least now I'll have documentation :-)

On a funny tangent.

In all my years of college, I've yet to take something that wasn't an "Intro to" or "Fundamentals of" something.

It's all a mind game :-)

The most fun course I ever took was one on science fiction. All my drinking was for extra discredit.

Senior year I took "Beverage Survey" - which was basically the same class, I'm sure. Ours was in the school of Hospitality Management and really wasn't an easy class, but ridiculously fun. We did tastings every other class, had about 20 guest speakers from breweries, wineries, distilleries, distributors and marketers, and learned a TON about alcohol. Have fun with it!

Found this description for it.

"A descriptive introduction to the history, science, sensory, economics, and societal aspects of alcoholic beverages. PREREQS: High school biology and chemistry. Open to any major. "

Only thing relating to 'tasting' would be the sensory, which is prolly just a lecture.

Either way the history of it will be fun. Beer, spirits, and wine are big in this part of the US. I do enough tasting on my own. Knowing the ins and outs could be interesting.

Oh and the best part of all.... no class on Fridays :-) Not sure how my schedule worked out that way.

3 day weekends... Woo

I took 'Wines and Vines' at VT. Everyone expected a 'wine tasting' course to be a slam dunk, it was actually fairly difficult. I pulled off a B, my roommate got a C. It was no cake walk. But I loved the hell out of it, was a great course. We had several 'sensory labs' throughout the semester too. Prof said we had to spit though, otherwise our senses would be thrown off.

I'd say ask around and see what you're in for, or take it pass/fail!
