I tend to spit a lot when smoking on the porch outside. In a lounge I usually have a drink and cannot and will not spit.

I don't spit and think it is a bad, nasty thing to do.. I don't see why it is necessary while you smoke or at anytime really..

Sometimes when I'm doing something with a cigar hanging out of my mouth and I start to drool... Sounds gross but it happens and most of the time it's followed by a little spit to the ground.

I do spit occasionally, when I'm outside and don't have a beverage. And I believe the aforementioned drooling while working if fairly common. Happens to me too.

I wonder if those who spit also hold the cigar in their mouths a lot between puffs, so that they generate a lot of nicotine in their saliva? I tend to take my puff and take it out of my mouth. I'd say the end of my cigar only gets moist from saliva, not wet. I imagine if I sucked on it more I would have more of an urge to spit. As it is, I almost never spit.

:-) This happens to me(minus the spitting). I cannot hold the cigar in my mouth for a long time without drooling. Very annoying.

I think if you pair a beverage with a cigar it eliminates need for spitting..
