Hey everyone,
Just wanted to tell you all a little story. Since I have been stationed at Barksdale AFB, my wife and I have been looking for a Church to attend on a regular basis. We have had no luck, as the churches we have tried have not matched out personal beliefs and preferences.
Yesterday, I was at the O-Club, where I have been getting more and more people smoking cigars on Friday nights. While I was sitting there having a few beers, one of the base Chaplains came up to me. He sat down, beer in hand, and started talking to me about cigars...he knew quite a bit. I offered him up a Fuente Short Story and he lit up. I managed to get talking to him about my Church situation and asked him about his beliefs. He talked about his, which matched up very well with mine and Kates.
I will now try attending the base Chapel when I get back from Florida. Just another example of how cigars and the interactions with other cigar folks can impact lives. Have a good weekend everyone.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, my friend. Good luck with the new Church.

Sounds like the light was shown to you

You'd be surprised. It's a good way to meet and talk to people they might otherwise not reach. Cigars and conversation are always a good match.

Sounds awesome!
I have grown tired of Corporate worship. We used to gather weekly with about 10 people and just praise at someone's house. Prayer and discussion is about what it amounted to. The Bible says Church is when two or more gather in his name.

I would argue you only need one.

That's a gret story James, thanks for sharing it. There's a lot of believers on this board, and we have the freedom to enjoy our cigars and drinks in good conscience and moderation to the glory of God.
BTW, I shoved my pastor down the slope.

I'm not allowed to join the church my family goes to because I drink. It's a Baptist church that is adamantly "non-drinking." I still attend fairly regularly, but I'm not allowed to become an "official" member. If it were up to me alone, we'd go to a different church. But my kids are pretty wrapped up in the youth program, and my wife is happy there, so I can't see disrupting everyone else in the family. I've tried addressing that the Bible says "be sober", it doesn't say, "don't drink", but I didn't make any headway with that arguement.

Good thread here and good to see others who share this belief. Cigars are not exclusive to non believers.
