What a journey...
In the beginning, when Simon and Ferdinand had told me about their plans to make a cross country trip I had agreed, thinking that it would never become a reality. But a few months later, here I am having had survived it.
I can't even begin to thank everyone for their generosity and hospitality along the way. There is nothing quite like it. For the most part, the four of us (ucubed, SmokeyNL, DonFernando, and myself) were strangers to each other, and to all of you inmates whom we met along the way. This didn't matter. When we all sat down to smoke, drink and eat, we were all family. You guys welcomed us to the best of your humidors, your homes, and your cities. For this i am greatly humbled and thankful. I was especially thankful for the opportunity to put faces to the usernames that I had become so familiar with.
There was no shortage of adventure along the way and I have so many memories. I'm sure you all have seen photos, but they're only half of the story. Nothing can beat the experience of meeting so many people for the first time, yet feeling like you've known them forever. Age didnt matter. Some young, barely 18, and others as old as well...tobii LOL...but again nothing could stop us from having great times, great smokes, and great memories.
I could never repay the generosity I was shown along the way, nor can the great times we had ever be replaced. I can only hope that I get the chance to smoke with you all again (preferrably on a less hectic schedule).
So until the day we can herf together again...Thanks for the memories everyone.

Well said, Aldrin. Though I was only part of the trip for E.L.V.I.S., it was definitely a great experience. It brought all of us together from all over. People who, if it weren't for cigars I never would have met. Through that experience, I got to know several of you a lot better, or even at all. I know that I have made some friends for life as a result of that trip, and hope that we will all be able to hang out again on many occasions throughout the years and celebrate birthdays, weddings, the birth of children, and graduations together. For me, the most poignant moments of E.L.V.I.S. happened that last night in Vegas. There wasn't any rowdyness or longing to go out and party hard. We just wanted to hang out and enjoy each other's company and tell stories. I was savoring the moments and honestly was not looking forward to the end and going home.
All I can say is that I look forward to future herfs and trips to wherever in the coutry and meeting up with people I've met and people I've only chatted with here. This truly is like a family.

Very nice post, Aldrin.
True. You may not be able to repay the generosity you were shown.
But you
can pay it forward.
