I have about a 30 minute walk each day and I would like to use this time to smoke a good little cigar, but I don't want to feel bad about tossing it after I arrive at the train station. Also, I think I would prefer mild/med strength for my walks. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Welp...either smoke the PCs faster or walk slower.

Honestly if you can get Los Statos they sound perfect..I'm not sure the strength but def an easy throw away.

you might consider the tins that several NC manufacturers produce. Ive had the Olivas and they are decent.
If youre looking for CC I hear the joyitas are a good little cigarillo.

Leave earlier, and walk slower. Instant solution!
I don't have many small cigars, but you can get a box of Chateau Fuente's pretty cheap (4.5"). They are delicious, and relatively cheap. Not sure what you can get under $2 except for tins, and I haven't tried those.
Had a buddy that got t-boned at an intersection in B'more because of a train. He nudged his car out to see around it, and WHAM! some lady plowed through the intersectoin. Made me mad, cause he was on his way to pick me up for lunch!

My life is always on a schedule. I work in Philadelphia and live in Baltimore, so if I mis an Amtrak train I'll have to wait another hour for the next one. The 30 minute walk is my luxury time. If I don't walk, I take a regional train to Amtrak, which only takes about 5 minutes. I did just buy a box of petrus reposados at the devil site for $28 so I shouldn't feel bad about tossing a half finished cigar, but I do.

Oliva Special G. I picked up a box of 48 of these for 79 and the smoke is my favorite regardless of price.

Padron Londres? Work out to a little over $2 by the box.

I second the Oliva special G.
I also really like the Punch London Club Maduros for when I'm short on time (the naturals not as much). They are $1.25 ea by the 5er from CI, and less than that by the box.

I cannot do a Robusto (4.5X50 about) sized cigar in 30 minutes. That is a 45 - 75 minute smoke for me.
I have found the RP Juniors (Sun Grown & Vintage Lines) to be excellent short smokes @ $11.00 for 5 cigars (4X38) that isn't bad.
However, RP also does them in bulk - not the SG or the Vintage line, but that size. Famous has them in natural and maduro wrappers for $50 for 40 sticks. Now that is a smoke you could finish, and if not, there'd be no reason not to toss the rest.
Here's the link to the natural wrapped version.

You can't go wrong with a Muniemaker, all tobacco and yummy.
If you like a mild yet flavorful morning smoke, the 5 Vegas Nugget is a nice choice. Can be had reasonably on the Devil Site. Another mild one is the Fonseca 2-2, it's about the right size for your walk.
You may want to check Mike's Cigars for the Old Fashioned bundles. Seconds of Mac.s and Partagas. Good value there so you don't feel bad if you don't nub it.
