Alright, here is a brand that doesn't get talked about. (at least I never hear them being talked about).

When I say that this is probably my favorite nc brand, I'm as serious as a heart attack. The P.G. 15th anni is not only my favorite nc cigar, but probably one of my favorite cigars period. They are a little pricey, but i believe spending 10-12 on these sticks is easily justifiable because every one that I have had has been really good.

The 15th itself builds in richness as it is smoked. Picks up a bit of spice as you go.

I'm just giving this brand a little bit of love because well, i love em!

I may have to revisit these. I wasn't impressed at all with the one I had, and gave the other away in a PIF or MAW. PG's actual store is only like 10 miles away from me, so we'll see if I make it over there. They are another one of many stores that try and pass off mold as "plume". I have to think they know the difference and are just lying, seeing as how PG himself has a PhD and has written a book about cigars. His son should know as well, so I can only assume he was lying to my face. Funny think was, they had a few vintage cigars in their shop that were over 20 years old that were actually plumed.

Sorry to hear about that. I mainly visit the 15th anniversary. (their other lines have been hard to come by).

I do hope your experience is better next time around though.

I may have to try the 15th anny, as I think I smoked the regular line.

Sorry for the rant on plume vs. mold. One of my pet peeves.

Had a couple, thought they were good cigars but not worth the price.

I hear you. I worked at a b&m and (thankfully) we never tried passing off mold as plume. We did have a few examples that had to be tossed.

I've been to a few B&M's myself that have done that very thing though.

Smoked their smaller sizes when I started in the early/mid 90's along with Chateau Fuentes and RyJ Vintage III's... just outgrew 'em.

Nice review and photo's on SR Steve. I have always seen the PG in various B&M's and like others have mention, it has been the price per stick that has shielded me from the purchase. So many great low to medium end sticks available you know?:-)

Was just at their store in McLean and had a nice chat with Garmirian fils. Picked up an 8 pack of Maddy Gran Coronas- they indeed are not cheap, but what the hey. His humi is fairly small and selection is mostly PGs(natch.) I'll smoke one of these at the herf manana and let you know what I think. I shore am glad he didn't pass off mold as plume to me, tho!

The 15th Anny lancero is a darn good smoke. The reason you don't hear much about them is because they do no, nadda, zero advertising. They believe the cigar should sell itself and by word of mouth. It must work because they have been making good cigars for quite a few years now.

Haven't had that many PGs but think the 15th Anni series Corona, Connoisseur and especially the Belicoso Extra are wonderful cigars. The Beli Extra is probably in my top 5 NC.s. Also enjoyed the Soiree Robusto.

P.G. Bombones & #5s are excellent smokes, my favorites of the regular line. Others are excellent as well, but as others said, they are a bit pricey. They are good though.

I bought a couple of them several years ago at Jack Schwartz in Chicago. Haven't had any since, but I thought they were very good.

I do really enjoy these, and if not for the price I would have many many more.

I always figured PG was the rolex of cigars.
