This season picks up right where last season ended with the over dramaticized BS!
How many soliloquies can you cram into an hour and a half show that should have only been an hour?

Zombies are definitely faster, I think so they can squeeze more commercials in!

Yes the there is definitley too much drama, but I think they are doing great things with the gore. Wish it was a little bit more action and less drama but I am still enjoying the show.

The 1st 25 mins HOLY CRAP....Intense then a crap load of commercials, I am not goingto b!tch about the drama, I like the characters and I love this show...HUGE fan of the comic, novel or whatever and I am painfully waiting to see what develops....One thing I didn't get were the zombies in the church SITTING! Not wondering around aimlessly...that to me just didnt' seem right.

I for one didn't forsee the kid getting shot, I figured a zombie would bum rush the deer, I was :-)

Didn't really make sense to me (The boy getting shot) because it would just be so unlikey that that could happen.

It did look like the bullet went thru the deer and hit the boy as well, so I see your point....watch it turn out to be the lost girl, she found a gun on a body.

I don't know but I shot a buck from 15 yards with a slug and it didn't pass through, and the chance it would be a kill shot on the deer, pass clean through and take out the boy just seems to far fetched for me, but I guess it was the sign he was looking for! I am not saying it would be impossible but highly unlikely. I didn't see it coming though, I wonder if any animals will become zombies. It would have been cool to see the deer turn and look at the boy with blood all over its mouth.

That would have been awesome :-)

I'll still watch it for a bit, but I'm not convinced on this show yet. I really, really want to like it, because I dig zombies/zombie movies, but I found myself fast-fowarding through a lot of the scenes in the last episode.

Those segments where the character speaks to the audience (like the long walkie-talkie scene) seem like such a cop-out to me. Couldn't the writers find a more interesting or engrossing way to lay out the plot points?

I like the gore and zombies (zombie head + screw driver = awesome!), but it's going to take some decent acting to keep me interested in it, or at least some characters I "care" about.

Anyway, just my :-) I still plan to DVR it and watch as time allows for now, but really hope it picks up.

Agree completely!
The gore is so well done, it is the only thing that keeps me watching right now.
I am not a fan of the dynamic with Shane (only character I remember his name) and the husband and wife, I find it more annoying than dramatic.

They showed a commercial with Rick carrying the boy and saying he had been shot...before it happened. :-) :-) And...where did Sofia go?

I just started watching this on netflix. only two episodes in and have liked it so far.

I finally saw the episode last night. I downloaded it so I wouldn't have to deal with commercials. I feel for you guys.

As for the drama...keep in mind, the show is *not* about the Zombies...it's about the people, and how they act/react/develop in this world.

That said, even I felt the drama was a bit forced.

Overall, I liked the first episode. There was some great gore. Gotta like how some of the zombies were taken out. The car scene was suspenseful. That said, I'm not sure how much more of the love triangle I can take. I also found it was strange that the zombies were just sitting in church. Anyhoo, I'll keep watching.

Then the show should have a different name because Walking Dead means zombies.:-)

Clearly zombies have no character, so I understand a need to inject character development into the writing, but the drama is over the top. Like ucla695 stated the "love triangle" is already old.

Agreed. I think this was over more quickly in the comics...but it's been about 5 years since I started this series. I may have to sit down and re-read them all on my birthday-vacation in November.

Re-watched season 1 over the past week and ready for tonight's episode! :-) I'm interested to see the direction that the new season will take.
