I just got a box of Illusione's in the mail today and the box date says Nov 2008. Now does this mean the date they were packaged or the date the tobacco was harvested, or neither?

The date they were boxed.

I thought that was it, just seems a bit odd that I would get a new box that was 2 years old. Thanks:-)

Some B&M's probably use LIFO inventory to defer taxes, they might have gotten a bunch of orders for Illusione and had to go that far down their inventory.

Exactly.

Plus, it is easier to take a box off the top than take one out from the bottom :-)

Cool, thanks guys. Not sure if I like that though, one of the reasons to buy a box is to see them age. They do have a 2 stick return policy.

As long as they've been well stored, you should be good. Besides, 2 years isn't much. You have plenty of time to watch them age more in your care. If you tried to return them I think you'd have a very confused vendor.
