I don't know what the problem is, but the coffee is just way too cold.

Behmor customer support is really good, they should take care of you but they may be a little busy so don't give up. There is bound to be real world issues that arise with a first release production.

The caraf is not supposed to go into a dishwasher because it can hurt the seal that joins the caraf together. If this seal fails the problem you are having sounds like the result, I am not saying you put it in the dishwasher. There have been a few reports just like this over at Coffee Geek and then they disappear from activity because Joe and his team take care of the problem, I don't think black vans show up at their houses but I can't really say :-).

Thanks, Laura!:-) If My Capresso Ever Breaks Down, I May Get One. LMK If You Find Something Even Better. I Like The Idea Of The Capresso Grinding The Beans, But I Guess It's No Big Deal.

I dont like mine grinding the beans, I like to control it more than that. I also dont like cleaning the grinder in those kind of machines.

It Does Make A Mess. Laura: How Do You Know What Temperature To Set Your Brazen On? Thanks!:-) BTW, Anything You Don't Like On Your Brazen Compared To Your Old Capresso?

Greg, just like finding the right RH for your cigars, it's trial and error.
Adjusting the grind and temp to suit your palate, is part of the fun.
I'm finding that the carafe isn't keeping my coffee warm enough.
I could just raise the brew temp and see if that helps, but that defeats the purpose of the machine, IMO.

BTW, I did receive a response from Behmor yesterday.
We're going to take the readings at some point today.
I'll keep all posted as to there response.

Depending on your brew settings, we would expect to see the carafe hold at around 170 degrees at 40 minutes from brewing.
Let us know,
Lara

I love my Brazen, to me it was well worth the cost. The Capresso didnt allow me to get the full flavor from my coffee and because of the way it was set up I was getting grounds in my water chamber.

No, I dont think grinding coffee seperately makes a mess. It allows me to have more control of my grind and to see it before I put it in the filter.

I did what they asked and received an email from Behmor on Friday.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Lara
Hopefully this resolves my issues.

Got the new carafe, holding temp much, much better.
Now the issue is the mess the new carafe makes when pouring.
I expect a little mess when pouring, but this is too much.
Took me 4 paper towels to clean up the spill from pouring 1 cup of coffee.
I'll report back with what they say.

That is interesting Dom, my husband complains about it making a mess, but it doesnt do that to me. I will be interested to hear what they have to say.

I had a top for the caraf that had been changed during production I guess, the thumb lever was at a steeper angle and it was hard to not pull the brew basket out when pulling the caraf. The side effect of the replacement was no more mess when pouring.

If You Pour My Capresso Carafe Too Quickly, It Spills All Over, Dom. Is This The Issue?:-)

Let me update. I pulled the old caraf top out and the two they sent as replacements, I see no difference in the thumb lever. I then tried the old top on the caraf to see if it would pull out the brew basket, amazing how muscle memory can adjust to avoid mess making. I could not repeat the same problems. However when I put hot water in the caraf and did some pour comparisons, the old top dripped down the front of the caraf, the other two do not (much). Honestly I have never had a 100% spill free pour with any caraf but the old top is bad, the newer ones are not perfect but more then acceptable to me.

A year later and an issue developed where the coffee maker wouldn't brew a full pot.
I descaled the pot a few times, and there was no improvement.
Reached out to Behmor, and they went ahead and replaced the pot with a new one, at no cost to me. :-)

Here I am 6 months later and the new pot that they sent is on the fritz.
I absolutely love this coffee pot, and thus far their service has been top notch, but having to constantly resolve issues with this brewer is growing tiresome.
Reached out to Bemohr, and received some diagnostic steps to try and resolve the issue myself.
If I can't get this resolved it might be time to switch and try a Technivorm.

Another new pot is on it's way to me.
Due to the issues I've had, I'm going to ask if they will extend the warranty, as I think my 2 years is up in December.
Hopefully there will be no more issues, and I won't even need that extension.
The product is terrific (when it works right), and so far, their customer service has been top notch, so for now I'm sticking with my Brazen.
