Cigar Name: Padron, 1926.
Cigar Size: #35, 4"x47.
Wrapper Type: Natural

An excellent day to celebrate my birthday.

It was a great day today. Was about 80 with a gentle breeze. I woke up at noon to the noise of my two neighbors (5 and 7) running about my house. Went outside and just relaxed and watched some of the neighbor hood kids play while I relaxed with their parents. Played a little catch with my neighbor, one got away from me and clocked me in the nose (yeah it hurts). Then we had some cheeseburgers and whatnot, followed by cake. Was a great day. Only one thing could make it better...

Around 7:00 when it got dark (wow its getting dark early), I joined my parents on the back deck and lit up one of my new Padron 1926 #35. Here's how it went.

Construction: 10/10

Would you expect anything other than perfect construction on a Padron? Its a rare occasion. This cigar was flawless in every way.

Flavor: 23/25

How do you describe the flavor of a Padron 1926? Its like a Dr. Pepper "23 different flavors". Okay maybe not that many, but there are nice subtle flavors. Starts off with a taste of dark roasted coffee and a hint of hazelnut. After a little bit its more dark chocolate and espresso flavored with hints of cedar. Finishing off it gives a little kick of spice with a nice helping of leathery goodness. Fan-freakin-tastic.

Draw: 10/10

Effortless doesn't describe how easy it was to draw on this cigar. Perfect.

Burn: 9/10

May have been too moist since it just came from the B&M today, but I just had to have one. Burned slightly uneven at a couple points, but naturally corrected itself.

Ash: 5/5

Light gray ash and holds well past an inch, as most Padrons.

Smoke: 5/5

Nice thick white fluffy clouds with that rich tobacco scent.

Impression: 32/35

I don't know if any cigar out there gets me as excited as a Padron Anniversary. I'm a fan of everything they make, and think the Padron Classic line is one of the best line available and a great price. With the name Padron always comes great quality and unique flavor.

This cigar is just beautiful. A dark leathery brown wrapper soft to the touch without any flaws of any kind. Very nice box press and great construction. I have high expectations when it comes to Padron cigars, and this cigar did anything but disappoint. It was fantastic from start to finish. I love this cigar!

Overall Rating: 94

If you haven't tried a Padron Anniversary cigar yet, go out and get one. You will NOT be disapointed. The 1926 is a fantastic cigar and comes in great sizes and your choice of Natural or Maduro. Normally I'm a Maduro man but this cigar was spot on for a Natural.

This is why when I review a cigar with an $8.00+ price tag, I say "It is a great cigar, but I'd have a hard time picking it up over a Padron Anniversary".
