I saw some sticks I want some advice about, there are two boxes of Oliva "X" cigars at a store I visited today. This store also had the Oliva Bold sticks and some boxes of the original Oliva 'O' blend ,in the Red boxes.
There are also boxes of the Vintage Cameroon and Maduro from a while back.
There were some 10th Anniversary cigars in a 5 sided box,from 2004....
When were the "X" cigars made, and are they worth buying?
How about the Cameroon and Maduro Vintage sticks?Any good?
10th Anniversary ?.............
Thanks for your advice........................

From a few minutes of googling it seems Oliva did indeed produce an X line, as far as I can tell from 04-06 and were discontinued for lawsuit reasons over the X moniker.

Also I found this review:

Edit: And on that note these seem to be very HTF, I would buy them out.

Oooh, please keep me in mind for a box split. I'd like a box or 2 for myself pending price.
These were released, then cancelled to avoid litigation against Opus X.
However, the rumor has it the remaining stock and blend were sold to FSS and are sold as Famous Nic 3k's.

As you said...Oliva had to stop producing this line years ago as a result of a lawsuit from Fuente (who claimed it was an infringement on their opus x trademark)
It was actually quite a good smoke. Exceedingly rare as they were limited production. Buy them if you've got the money. You may never see them again.

I remember reading something about the Oliva "X" becoming the Famous Nic 3000. Tobii was up on these sticks, but not sure if he is still around (on the boards). I know he is currently deployed.

Tom, buy them. I would as they are quite good. I still have a few left. They were made for EO Brands (Ortega and Espinosa) and called Series X. They were a hit. Then Fuente stepped in and a judge apparently agreed with them that they own "X".
:-)
The rumor that was pretty much accepted was that they became the first couple of batches of the Nic 3000's but are long gone now.

I am not sure, but Oliva made the 2006 Angel, which Papajohn would bomb the hell out of me and that was an incredible smoke. I would love to try one.

Different Oliva. The "Angel 100" was Oliva Tobacco Company who, aside from that one cigar line to commemorate the 100th birthday of the company's founder, Angel Oliva, are strictly tobacco growers and leaf suppliers. One of the largest in the cigar industry too.
The Oliva X was from Oliva Cigar Co., makers of the V, G, O, Cain, Nub etc...
