Over the last few days, including Thanksgiving Day, I've been enjoying "Boatswain Double IPA Twin Screw Steamer" (from their 22oz bottle). A very enjoyable and tasty IPA:-)

I bought some Half Acre's Daisy Cutter when I was in Illinois for thanksgiving. What a fabulous pale ale. If you think pale ales are too ordinary, you need to try this. Amazing.

I had it next to the Lolita in a flight and preferred the Lolita, but that could be the extra few years of age. Delicious none the less

I had a 2 year old Bell's Expedition last night. Great Russian Imperial Stout. 10.5% abc, but smooth, with notes of cocoa and plum. Excellent.

Finally received my case of BCBS and bottle of the coffee variant. Can't wait to compare it to the 2015s.

From the tasting I think that the 15 compared to 16 is as expected, the boozy bite has mellowed a little but still present, with both having a similar overall taste. Can't speak to the bottle comparison since all of mine from last year were recalled, but I'd love to hear an opinion from one of the good bottles

My bottles weren't on the recall list last year (at least I didn't find them). I'll do a little taste test ASAP.

Took a trip to Stowe, VT this weekend. Stopped at The Alchemist and got my and my wife's limit of Heady Topper and Crusher (total of 8 four packs of each). That should hold me over for a little while.

Is Heady Topper all that it's cracked up to be?

Seems like a lot of hype to me. There are a ton of very good to excellent IPAs out there. Can't imagine what makes this one so much better than the rest.

Drank about 2/3 of a growler full of KBS on Friday, with the help of some friends. If I get a chance I'll post up a review of this growler top I used that lets you re-carbonate what's inside it using co2 cartridges, very cool little contraption.

I really enjoyed the Heady Topper sample I had at the brewery and, based on that, I found that it was/is better than most IPAs I've had from NY. Given that, I'm willing to try any IPAs that anyone wants to send me!

Also, I can't get Heady Topper in NY and really wanted to give it a try.

Come out to San Diego and you'll have an opportunity to sample more IPAs than you can imagine. San Diego is arguably the craft beer mecca in the US. With over 125 brew houses in the county, it would take you some time to even scratch the surface. Hell, there are over a dozen within a 5 mile radius of my home. Danger, Will Robinson!

Do you have a spare room I could roost in for about a month? :-)

Peter I agree there are a lot of excellent IPA's out there, Heady Topper is in the upper echelon of beers but nothing worth selling a kidney for. Ive never head any of your Californian Russian River beers but I'm sure it's just like the "Pliny's"

The other Russian River beers are nothing like Pliny the Elder.
Most commercially available (not at the brewery) are their sours. :-)
