Accessory Discussion / Reviews>Good Alternative to Lava Fuel?
aerochris 07:10 AM 06-09-2009
Hello. I have been using Lava fuel in my lighters for a few years. I am no longer able to find it in the store. Do you have any other suggestions on where to purchase Lava or a similar 5x refined fuel?

Thanks!

Anything quintuple refined should be suffice.

Try going to the New Inmate Forum and making an introduction and letting the Asylum know a little bit about yourself. :-)

I use the Vector 5x refined. If needed I could disguise a can in a package for ya. It's a large can so it would last quite a while. Just let me know.

Atlantic Cigars carries Lava. Most of us around here use Vector, same quality and you get much more for about the same price.

Thanks for the replies everyone!! I remember some of you from the old CS site. I'm going to look at Williams Sonoma tonight and if I don't have any luck I will order some Vector online.

If you don't see it on the shelf at WS ask last two stores I was in had it behind the counter. Before I knew better I bought two colibri lighters the switch over to vector even has them working and that's saying a lot. With the colibri fuel they were hit or miss at best.

I have been using the same can of Lava for over a year, but I have a can of Vector on stand by if the Lava ever runs out. It is a bigger can and about the same price, how can you go wrong.

Go to a good cooking supply store. Tell them that you need fuel for a creme brulee burner. It's food grade and usually vector or lava.

I've been using the Vector 5x for awhile now and it works 100 times better than the old 3x stuff.

I switched from the ronson fluid to Vector and I swear my jetlite flame is bigger. CI has Vector for 12.95 for 2 cans, use free shipping link and call it a day.

Thanks guys!! I found a can of Vector at Williams Sonoma for $8. It seems about the same quality as Lava. That makes me happy. However, I'm going to investigate this two cans for $12 and free shipping business. That sounds promising!
