Hello everyone, I found this cigar box at a thrift store recently. I have tried to find information about it with little success. I was directed here by Mr. Moo from the pipe smokers forum. He told me there would be more people here with expertise on something like this. On the front side, underneath a hinge is stamped: "...herein contained were manufactured to retail at more than twenty cents each and are so tax paid" Next to that in larger script: "Dunhill Selection No. 600" The rest of the lettering should be readable from the photos. Old stuff like this is very cool to me, because it has such a history. It has been interesting reading the story of the Dunhill company, I just can't find any specifics about this box. Anything you could tell me would be much appreciated.

As Marc said, welcome.

I have no clue, but it looks a lot like this:

Looks similar to a salesman's sample case.

Yes it does thanks, plus it has a similar stamp about the cigars being manufactured to retail at twenty cents each...I read somewhere about the Dunhill company expanding and opening cigar stores in NY in the 1920's, maybe its from that period.

No clue about the box, but it sure is cool. :-)
Welcome to CA, brother!!! Put your name in your profile, will ya? It's awkward not being able to call you by name.
