I don't know enough about other industries to accurately compare, but the legal job market is possibly one of the worst job markets in the country at the moment. My current job search has been a 14-month hardscrabble struggle, filled with phone calls, networking, resumes, and all that other fun job seeking stuff. However, today it all paid off...
...because I finally landed a job!! On Monday I start prosecuting crimes for the Essex District Attorney in Massachusetts! I was hired as an Assistant District Attorney, but since I haven't actually been admitted to the bar yet I'll just be a Legal Assistant for the next two months (but I'll be doing the same work as an ADA).
This is very exciting, and my wife and I now feel like we're really starting to get our wheels turning and get our little family moving along the path towards the American dream. Now if it only it wasn't raining so I could light something up to celebrate!!
