I'm my own Limited Liability Company. I provide creative services - writing, photography, print editing but I seem to have developed a nice little niche of design print advertising for grocery stores.

I now own a Private Club in Seattle. Yes, a cigar club :-)

I'm "retiring" from my financial consultation practice at the end of the month to operate it. Dream come true :-)

Own and run a engineering/consulting/customer service firm here in Southern California. Cater to the high-tech micro-electronics industry (ie Intel, Motorola, Skyworks Solutions, etc)

I'm a medical practice management consultant--generally meaning I give physicians advice on how to improve operations & finance at their business. I used to be a lot more independent, but decided to hook up with a larger, more stable firm about 5 years ago. Still do some smaller projects on my own, but enjoy the security of a larger support structure and steady income & benefits.

I own a Broadcast Contract Engineering Services company. We design, build and install custom equipment and facilities for Radio & TV stations in Southern California. Been in Broadcasting since 1974, started my own company in 1981. Quite a roller coaster ride over the years! LOL

don't own a business, but just started as a insurance/financial advisor. No salary means it's basically my business.

I own a small Electrical Contracting business in Mid-Missouri. We are feeling the pinch right now but as my old boss told me when I started "don't get to High in the good times and to low in the bad" that seems to be good advice right now.

I own a company that delivers Tx and supervision to court ordered offenders and a technology based company that develops and markets offender management systems. Both are impacted by the current economy. I've been self employed most of my life.

My wife and I own two Ltd companies.

One is a bookkeeping, property management, accounting software support company which employs five full time staff.

The other is a leasing company which owns 3 office buildings and 10 residential rental properties.

And we live in arctic Canada where everything needs to be flown in or come by ship and temp regularly hits -60-80 in the dead of winter.

As a result I read more and collect more cigars than I smoke unfortunately.

I'm a self-employed technology consultant, aka a 1099 employee in US IRS speak. Mostly, I am a testifying expert in patent lawsuits.

I'm considering applying for a regular gig, tho, which will allow my consulting income to basically be for play.
