Congrats to you!!! My dad was offered early retirement as well. He found something else he liked doing, full time clown, and hasn't looked back yet.

Tragically nothing tonight - just haven't had time. Tomorrow's another story though. We're suddendly having some 80 degree weather, so tomorrow I'll believe I'll usher in the 1st day of my non-productivity with a Lusi. :-)

Thank you to all for the good wishes. This place is the best. :-)

Congrats on the retirement. Will you continue to split time between states or spend more time in one or the other?

Sometime next year we plan on saying adios to my native Cali for good. It really will depend on the real estate market and economy. Wanna buy a house??? :-)

In the meantime wifey will keep working (her choice) and I'll lounge. :-) Actually I'll be spending a lot more time in NV doing upgrades to the other place.

After close to twenty seven years with the same large company, I drove out the gate for the last time today. They offered me an early retirement, and after mulling it over for what seemed like forever but was actually only a couple of months, I bit. The hard part for me truly was in making the decision. Once I did, I felt great. While some of my peers that accepted the offer did so reluctantly and are still second guessing themselves, I’m content.

It does seem odd knowing I don’t have to get up before sunrise tomorrow. Seems even odder to think I’m retired at a relatively young age.

I have a hunch my cigar consumption is about to increase a tad. :-)
Good for you and congradulations!
