Entertainment>RUSH: R40 Tour
JohnRogers 02:30 PM 02-15-2015
Anybody excited for what is most likely the band's farewell tour? I'm going to opening night in Tulsa OK and probably some NYC/Newark show with friends later on.

I'm sad yet stoked for the show. I'd like RUSH leave the stage gracefully than play on too long.

Got my tickets for THE final show in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately I'll be unable to attend. I would like to, though; I haven't seen them live since 1992-93 or so.

A good chance they might shoot that show for a later DVD release. Enjoy!

I really wanted to see them, being it's likely their last show. However, the ticket prices just turned me off, not to mention all the presales snatching up the prime seats. I'm not about to spend almost $100 to sit at the back of an arena.

I saw them 4 times back in the late 70s and early 80s, including front row center the last time. Can't afford to replicate that experience, so I will just live with the memories. Y'all that are going, have an awesome time and burn one for me.

Never seen them, and I hope I get to on this tour especially since it could be their farewell tour.

Most definitely on my bucket list!! Are they coming to Indy for this or do I need to road trip to someplace bigger like Louisville or Cincy?

I didn't see Indy on the tour which is really surprising, maybe they will add more dates......especially if it's a farewell tour.

Kansas City or St Louis work for you?

A show in San Diego again would have been sweet.
I may try and see them in Vegas

Thanks John, I am thinking Columbus OH, Chicago IL or Toronto. Toronto just because I know they will be kick ass shows there. Not that they wont be anywhere else.

For a long time I've wanted to see them at their home arena but that probably won't happen. Let us know if you go to the Toronto show.

Well Geddy was on That Metal Show this past Saturday and they asked him if it was their final tour. Geddy said it will be their last tour for a long while.....he said that Neal has a daughter now and it's hard to leave her when on tour, and also with their 3 hour show they are totally drained, and not to mention Neal.

He said they will continue to write and will gig here and there, but they are going to slow down.

That was a pretty good interview at least when Geddy wasn't interrupted. I think Rush fans just need to adjust their expectations of the band. The dudes are in their 60's slowing down is just fine, they owe us nothing.

I think Rush was on of the most influential or at least, rockin bands of the 70s and 80s. But in part because
they were so influential and driven to stay relevant, they began to sing songs about technology and teen
angst in a modern world, and I just went cold on Rush. I know that every band decides how they are going to
move and progress, but I never liked another thing after Moving Pictures. So I would not try to find tickets
to their show, but I can understand anyone that is excited.

Haha, I reached for the "Like" button and it was not there, lol.
This is how I feel. They couldn't PLAY a bad song in my eyes for ten years,
then I just tapped out. Unlistenable by the mid 80s. Every time I hear "Subdivisions" all I can think is Mr. Roboto. :-)
