All Cigar Discussion>Cloth stuff in my cigar?
dannyboy 01:40 PM 12-03-2008
I wanted to relax and enjoy a morning off. Grabbed a LGC from the cooler and a book and went outside. Clipped the cap and...WTF is that cloth stuff coming out of the cigar? Pulled on it and a big chunk came out. Gross. Reclipped the cap to see if I could get past it. Looks good, until I notice a slight discoloration, pull on it and heres what I get

More of the cloth and a piece of cellophane! I am glad I double checked after I reclipped it, that stuff can't taste good. I will be contacting the manufacturer about this one. Anyone else find anything gross in their cigars?

I thought I found a white hair in a CAO once, but after contacting the company I recieved and explanation that it was most likely a piece of the nylon twine they use to bind the tobacco bundles together.

whatever, they replaced the cigar and then some, so I was happy.

O.o Now, I knew there were a few quality control issues down there, but lordy...maybe it was malicious - "This'll show those gringos..."

Perhaps that's a cocoon of some sort. Seen that before in a cheap cigar. I have also found twine in a few cigars.

I've heard of worse things in a cigar , like a band aid , a clipped finger nail and a piece of wire once . This usually only happens with machine made cigars . In a hand rolled I would suspect it was a disgruntled torcedor . I mean how could you not see something like that ? :-)

Found a discolored (burnt) staple in my ashtray once after a stick. Didn't see it come out of the ash but then I am 90% sure it wasn't in the ashtray before.

Figure it happens, hell I have had a dead mouse in a beer bottle why not something in a cigar.

Although rare, I’ve seen this before. It’s the twine or cloth that was used to ferment the tobacco or bind the bales together. I recently saw a picture of something like this sticking out of a CC. I guess the roller was on auto-pilot when the cigar was rolled.

Ahhhhh, I've had some of those. I'm not noobie to cigars, just posting stuff. I've never understood texting but know LOL and OMG. Never got why people text instead of talk. Maybe thats a new Thread. Thanks for the info
