All Cigar Discussion>The Padrons Rock!
muhren 05:37 PM 05-02-2011
I asked Jeff Padron what box he would recommend aging for 18 years until my son turned 18 and could enjoy a smoke with me. He said 45th.

I bought a box.

I dropped him a line asking if the family could sign it and send it back so I could give it to him on his 18th.

He had everyone sign it, wrote "Happy 18th Birthday Carter" on it and then he re-factory sealed it and sent it back!

I thought it was pretty cool of them to do, so I thought I'd share.

Great people and great cigars!

True class. :-)

Hey Mike,

You might want to consider tossing that box right into the freezer for about 10 days before storing it in your humidor for the better part of the next two decades. Yeah 10 days is a bit overkill by the table numbers, but you wouldn't want Carter to open that box on his 18th and find that something had ravaged the cigars.:-)

I had a very nice bit of interaction with em about ten years ago, and J.O. and Jorge were extremely personable and
down to earth to deal with. They have plenty to be proud of and are as humble as any business people I have ever known.

Won't play, but no matter, I didn't realize they were freezing them in Miami, I've only been to the Nicaragua side of the operation. Thanks.

Guess you can scratch my suggestion Mike, unless you are worried about what has happened since it left their hands the fist time (ehhhh, probably low risk).
